Each year’s Nov. 11, or called the Singles’ Day, can always create a few hot topics on line. This year it comes to the what kind of occupaton a single man or woman might take.

In the minds of Xi Wei, a relationship consultant with a local matchmaking website, people living in Wuxi who work in sectors like financial, IT and M&E usually turn to her for help. “Those enaged in financial jobs have decent pay but little time for dating and they have high expectations in choosing spouses. People who come from IT or M&E sectors, though with good pay, have small interpersonal circle. They usually lack experience in dealing with females,” said Xi Wei.

Miss Zhu went to work in a local bank as a teller after finishing her master’s degree. “This job requires me to work for two days and then rest one day no matter it is weekend or holidays, which makes it difficult for fixing a date. Besides, as a new learner in banking business, I have massive job training and career exams to attend and I feel exhausted,” said Zhu.

“Occupation should not be blamed for one’s being single. It’s often related with a person’s view of marriage and expectations on the other. I suggest singles make early plan for themselves and not foster reasonable expectations.
